Also, the Council truly thinks the community wants a dog park in the Village Green. Come and tell them the truth. YES, 7pm is absolutely the WORST time of the day for anyone especially parents with work, commutes, kids, dinner, baths!!!
This is the very reason tonight is the night to divide and conquer with your spouse. One of you eats dinner with the kids, and the other one comes to the Council Meeting at 7pm!!! The Council has heard from the same ten appointed dog park committee special interest group and friends. Listening to them is like a broken record!
They have been preaching to the choir and the choir singing to the Council. IT IS LIKE A BAD RE-RUN TV COMEDY. Unfortunately, this is no joke! It is $809,000 of our hard earned tax dollars that are being used by a small special interest group of our community. Plus the value of our valuable land, and the daily maintenance costs. How many people do you see at the temporary dog park? If we are going to have a million dollar dog park, how many strangers will this attract to the park where all our children play?
About five years ago I went to a dog park committee meeting with other residents to voice our opposition BUT WE WERE NOT ALLOWED TO TALK AT THE DOG PARK COMMITTEE MEETING because we were against the dog park. The committee meeting was lead by former Vice Mayor leading the committee which includes an owner of a Dog Walking Business. This is the HAND APPOINTED group of residents that the Council has been listening to for the last 6 years and also their friends from the dog park. They seem to have more time on their hands at 7pm than the rest of us. I encourage you to read the Islander News because many of our residents unfortunately are not aware of the Village Council or the dates of the meetings, or about issues that affect our tax dollars.
I hope to see you today or tonight where I will also be taking signatures at the Council Chambers. (if I am allowed!) Watch for me. Honk if you want to sign!
