5G- Bad News for Bees
Jun 3, 2019 —
I have been diving into the current science and research around radio frequency radiation and it's effect on Bees and posted this on my public facebook page this morning. Feel free to follow the link and share to help raise awareness.
For those who aren't on facebook I've also posted this on my blog this morning http://www.getafreshstart.com.au/2019/06/03/5g-bad-news-for-bees/
Whenever I used to see a bee I would freak out because I’m severely allergic to them.
I remember how regularly I would see them as a kid.
Now it’s so much rarer. And I celebrate when I see one (while trying not to get stung of course!)
Bees are absolutely essential to life. I have been worried about them for some time and their dwindling numbers.
And now I’m even more concerned with the rollout of 5G.
Albert Einstein once said that “if the bee disappeared off the surface of the globe, man would have only four years to live”.
Honey bees are one of the most important species in the world and without them, we would be on struggle street (if we survive). You may have heard that a world without bees means a world without fruit, vegetables, grains, seeds and nuts. Their pollination is crucial.
“Colony collapse disorder" (CCD) is the term coined to describe the massive decrease in our bee population.
This has been somewhat a mystery and some have thought that it could be caused by a parasite or virus as well as pesticides and climate change, among other things. Or multiple destructive forces coming together.
In the UK, the population of bees dropped 17 percent and in the US almost 30 percent.
What is less talked about is the significant body of emerging science and research between our dying bee population, mobile phone use and the radio frequency radiation this produces.
One study in India used six colonies of honeybees and half of them served as the control group. The test colonies were provided with working mobile phones (a frequency of 900 MHz for 10 minutes each day, for ten days) and the others without mobile phones. Flight activity and returning ability of honey bees were measured before exposure, during exposure and after exposure.
The results of the study study showed that “after ten days the worker bees never returned to the hives in the test colonies. The massive amount of radiation produced by mobile phones and towers is actually frying the navigational skills of the honey bees and preventing them from returning back to their hives” (Sharma, 1958; Wellenstein, 1973; Warnke, 1975; Warnke, 1976).
In a May 2009 report the U.S. Fish and Wildlife Service urged Congress to investigate the potential relationship between wireless devices and honeybee colony collapse.
Bees are positively charged, flowers negatively charged. RFR exposure disturbs the natural orientation and navigation mechanisms of bees and other insects, who use the earth’s magnetic field and light energy to orient and navigate. It makes them restless, develop an urge to swarm, increasingly aggressive, and colony collapse in 62.5% of apiaries.
Warnke, Bees, Birds and Mankind: Effects of Wireless Communication Technologies” (Kentum, 2009) ; and F. Ruzicka, “Schäden durch elektrosmog,” Bienenwelt 10 (2003): 34-35; and 2 additional published studies.
Studies performed in Europe have documented navigational disorientation, lower honey production, and decreased bee survivorship in honeybees due to exposure to RFR from a cell tower within 500 meters (1,635 ft) and 800 meters (2,616 feet).
“5G devices use very high electromagnetic frequencies. Ubiquitous transmitters, planned for every school, shop, and neighbourhood, will generate billions of millimetre length waves. These signals will be the same size as most insects creating an electrical charge between the two. The energy flow also pulses creating tiny shockwaves that damage eyes, wings, antennae, and other delicate body parts. 5G communications have to be powerful enough to penetrate buildings so with nowhere to hide and under relentless bombardment, insects, trapped in an environmental microwave oven, will simply cook.”
“Cryptochromes are very badly affected by weak oscillating electromagnetic fields that are orders of magnitude weaker than the Earth’s steady magnetic field. This can disrupt both solar and magnetic navigation, which can account for colony collapse disorder in bees.”
