📣 PETITION UPDATE + COMMUNITY MEETUP THIS SUNDAY

Maria LaGiglioChicago, IL, Vereinigte Staaten
28.08.2026

We have made some noise, and people are paying attention.

Over the last several days, this community has spoken up loudly. The media are covering this, our U.S. senators have issued a statement raising concerns, and Alderwoman Nicole Lee has said she wants to stop the Amtrak facility from moving forward in Bridgeport.

But we cannot let up now. Statements are a start. We need action.

We need answers and accountability from Amtrak, our elected officials, and even the Chicago White Sox. We need to know what is actually being done to stop this project, and we need everyone involved to hear clearly that Bridgeport does not want a 24/7 heavy maintenance facility next to our homes and park.

Please keep signing and sharing the petition, keep asking questions, keep contacting our elected officials, and come out this Sunday so we can talk about where we go from here.

📅 Sunday, August 30th
⏰ 2:00 PM
📍 33rd & Canal

We’ll get together as neighbors to share information, talk about our concerns, coordinate next steps, and keep organizing.

🪧 BRING A SIGN! Make a poster telling Amtrak, our elected officials, and the White Sox why you don’t want this facility in our neighborhood. We’ll hang these up.

We have gotten this far because people have refused to stay quiet. Keep speaking up. Keep asking questions. Keep the pressure on Amtrak, our elected officials and the White Sox.

Our goal has not changed: STOP THIS PROJECT.

✊ KEEP AMTRAK OUT OF BRIDGEPORT.

📣 Sign the petition. Share the flyer. Bring a neighbor. Show up Sunday.
