Dear Environment Canada,
Please do not allow tailing ponds or oil sands effluent to be released into any waterways. This water is toxic and full of oil. The tailing ponds themselves have proven deadly to wildlife who has gotten into them.
Please stop acute lethality testing and sub lethal testing on fish, lethal sampling of animals, and all other laboratory tests on animals. Forcing fish, birds, and other animals, to be exposed to the effluent, and cutting them up to test them for selenium, oil, and other pollutants is cruel and outdated.

Please stop putting up tree swallow nest boxes so you can kill and dissect the baby birds to test them for contaminants. Please switch to non lethal samples only.
Please also stop killing and cutting up wood frogs to test their organs for contaminants.
Please switch to cruelty free non lethal research only.
Please stop working with hunters and trappers to “collect” mallard ducks, fishers, lynx, martens, and other animals for toxicity testing.
Canada is phasing out toxicity testing on animals. Please switch to animal free methods of testing effluent and other substances. For wild fish, wild birds, and other wildlife, please stop lethal sampling and switch to humane non lethal bio monitoring as is done in humans.https://www.change.org/p/stop-testing-sewer-water-on-laboratory-fish
