Stop summer socials in Polansky Park, Edison, NJ
The Issue
I am a resident of the Polansky Park neighborhood in Edison, New Jersey, and like many of my neighbors, I am deeply concerned about the summer socials that are currently being held in our community without our consent. For residents of Polansky Park, these events are not just a nuisance, but a severe invasion of privacy and a source of constant noise pollution.
The pleasant and tranquil environment we cherish is disrupted by loud music, increased traffic, and unfamiliar crowds, altering our neighborhood's peaceful character. This disruption is even more troubling because such events were initiated without consulting the neighborhood’s residents, disregarding our right to enjoy our homes in peace. A decision that affects our daily lives was made without any input from those who are most impacted. The lack of communication and consideration from the organizers and the local authorities only adds to our frustration.
The mayor of Edison has not provided prior notice or sought the consent of Polansky Park residents, which we view as a neglect of responsibility towards keeping constituents informed and involved in decisions impacting our community. It is paramount that our voices be heard, and our concerns be addressed in a constructive manner.
We are calling on the mayor’s office and local council to immediately cease these summer socials in Polansky Park, and to ensure that any future events that potentially disrupt the peace and quiet of our neighborhood only occur after thorough consultations with all affected residents.
Our aim is to preserve the peaceful character of Polansky Park, and to restore a sense of trust and cooperation between the local authorities and its residents. By working together as a community, we can ensure that our neighborhood remains a safe and enjoyable place for all of us to live.
