It has been almost two weeks since the decision to approve Strauss Brands’ special use denial was reversed. Since that time, our movement which started with a handful of passionate individuals has sparked much interest and involvement of citizens in what happens with politics on a local level.
The efforts of each and every one of you signing and sharing this petition has been very impactful in sending a message to those in power continuing to ignore and dismiss the voices and concerns of constituents. While it may seem we have lost in this Strauss controversy, I assure you we have not. We will not stop opposing this proposal and others that have the potential to negatively impact our communities and surrounding area.
So where do we go from here? In a short period of time we have formed an official Franklin Community Group with non-profit status. If we want to change the pattern of our tax dollars going toward funding Corporate profits over the voice of the people we need to focus on the primary issue before us and continue to apply pressure.
Each of us may not have the finances, knowledge or skill sets to achieve our common goals and establish a positive vision for our children, grandchildren and future generations but collectively we do. As a newly gathered community group we have limited funds which we're using now to address our current legal challenge with Strauss Brands and the City of Franklin.
Please join us to ensure our voices are heard and support us by sharing our webpage and consider contributing to our mutual cause of Stopping Strauss.
