A naturally regenerating interior forest will have lots of aspen, and they have aspen for a reason- they are less likely to burn. It's nature's way of tempering the menace of forest fires. But in much of BC, it is government policy to eliminate the trees that can make our forests burn less. This is one reason why we need to keep the pressure up, and demand that we stop spraying our forests with herbicide to permanently kill the trees that can make our forests stronger and more robust.
