Your comments are as valuable as your signature to this petition, so consider adding some. It is your chance to say something to our city council and mayor that you will not be allowed time for during any council meetings. Consider you are standing in front of them stating your support.

One commenter was surprised to know that the South Tulsa dam was still in the works. That is not surprising. Unless you like riding herd on the council on a daily basis, you will not know what they are planning to do.

For instance, the last minute negotiations with the tribe did not take place until Bynum realized he was going out of office and needed a sweetheart deal with the tribe or the South Tulsa dam would vaporize. The Tulsa World did not publish the tribal deal until it was signed. The city typically does not tell us anything they don't want us to know until they have closed the deal, so to speak, and then it is too late to stop poor management. Had I not been involved in the dam development since 2014, watching the fiasco first hand and fighting certain issues with the dam, I would not have known of the extremely bad economic decisions forcing the Zink Dam construction. Bynum had no valid economic analysis showing the new dam would ever pay for the upkeep let alone bring enough money into the city to pay for the dam over its lifetime.  So much for Bynum's bragging about transparency of his regime and "data driven" approach to governance. Tulsa World, Dec 2, 2024: "He {Bynum} first ran for City Council in 2008 to finally put water in the Arkansas River; this year, Zink Lake opened." That supports my observations since 2014 that Bynum was going to use any means possible to force the construction of the dams and ignore any "show stopping" known negatives related to the projects. Even the city engineers, INCOG, and consultants failed to provide or address any "bad news" to the dam committee, so to speak, related to the project so that critical decisions could be made. This is a very big iceberg and the public only knows about the very tiny bit poking above the water.
