It's hard to believe it’s been a year since my beautiful 10-year old lab Marley crossed the bridge. You never stop missing them. Here in Whitehorse they’re gearing up for another Yukon Quest 1,000-mile DEATH RACE. NO LESS THAN FORTY PERCENT of the mushers signed up for the 2020 YUKON QUEST have ALREADY RUN AT LEAST ONE DOG TO DEATH! – How many dogs will die this year?

Northern sled dogs are some of the most-abused animals in the world. When they’re not being run to death most sled dogs spend their lives on the end of a chain. Remember that their lives are no better during the summer when they sit forgotten on the end of a chain in the blazing heat of the Midnight Sun.

The death toll is massive and it keeps climbing. Tell your friends and family about the northern sled dogs. If you are a parent or an educator tell your children and students about the importance of protecting these precious sentient beings – in fact all living creatures with whom we share this planet.

Say a prayer for the sled dogs. They deserve so much better.
