STOP SB 738, 457, and 874 NOW
The Issue
We need your help to stop Senate Bill 738 by Martin Looney (D-New Haven), Senate Bill 457 co-sponsored by Sen. Duff and Sen. Osten and SB 874 sponsored by Gov. Lamont.
Please sign this petition to show your opposition and email to Senator Martin Looney, Governor Lamont, Wilton's Senator Will Haskell, Representative Gail Lavielle Representative Tom O’Dea Jr. as well as all 37 members of CT General Assembly Education Committee.
We do not believe that forcing school districts to regionalize is appropriate. It is unfair for all residents. Secondly, regionalizing school districts will NOT create a more efficient school system and will jeopardize locally controlled education. The three bills generated so much uncertainties. Everyone is adversely affected, from parents, students, teachers, administrators, current residents and even prospective residents. In turn such uncertainty will deter new residents and new business investment and depressing our state's real estate and economy.
