September 23, 2026 update
The UN Office of the High Commissioner for Human Rights have written the following, in response to Roman’s lawyer's petition:
I have the honour to inform you that your communication, received on 17 September 2026, submitted to the Human Rights Committee for consideration under the Optional Protocol to the International Covenant on Civil and Political Rights, on behalf of Roman Slepcsik, has been registered as communication No. 5005/2026.

Interim Measures
Under rule 94 of the Committee’s rules of procedure, the State Party has been requested to refrain from returning the author to the Czech Republic while the communication is under examination by the Committee. This request does not imply that any decision has been reached on admissibility or the substance of the matter under consideration.
We now need to ensure Canada complies. His removal date is still set for September 25th. Please continue to share this petition, write and call your MP, and write and call the Minister of Immigration and the Minister of Public Safety.
