Hey all,
First off, thank you for signing this a while back. We are at 1,000+ signers, which is insane. That means over a thousand people agree that Roblox’s recent direction is hurting creators, players, and the platform itself!
Unfortunately, Roblox’s newest developer update has made the situation even worse...
With the new publishing requirements, developers are being pushed into extra barriers like ID verification, stricter checks, and subscription-based requirements just to keep their games properly available. That is not “empowering creators.” That is putting a paywall and identity gate in front of the same people who helped build Roblox into what it is.
Every single thing they do just helps predators. A 18+ person can simply refuse to verify and get thrown in with underage persons.
Roblox has always been powerful because anyone could start creating. A random kid with an idea, a laptop, and Roblox Studio could publish something, learn, improve, and maybe even build a real community. That was the magic. Now, the platform is making it harder for smaller, younger, independent, and newer developers to even get started.
Safety matters. Nobody is saying Roblox should ignore safety. But forcing creators through confusing requirements, subscriptions, and extra hoops is not the same thing as protecting users. It feels like Roblox is using safety as an excuse to make publishing more restrictive, more corporate, and more frustrating.
This hurts:
- new developers trying to learn including ME
- younger creators who may not have an ID or payment method
- small studios without extra money to burn
- classic and smaller games that may get buried or restricted
- the overall creativity that made Roblox fun in the first place.
This petition is about pushing back against this exact kind of platform decline. Roblox should be making creation easier, safer, and more accessible — not locking it behind more requirements and subscriptions.
We are asking Roblox to rethink these changes and listen to the creator community before more damage is done.
Please keep sharing the petition. Send it to developers, players, friends, group chats, Discord servers, and anyone who remembers when Roblox felt more open. Bring back "Powering Imagination."
