📣 Community Update – What’s Next for Moorooduc Primary
Hi everyone,
Thank you so much for all your support so far — every signature, comment, and share has made a huge difference. We’ve now had a formal response from the Minister for Education, and I want to share where things stand.
👉 The back car park has been acknowledged, but the school has estimated repairs at over $100,000. For a small public school of just 245 students, that’s simply not something we can raise quickly. The school has done its best to patch potholes, but that’s only ever going to be a temporary fix. A full rebuild will take serious funding and proper planning.
👉 The good news: attention is finally turning to the front of the school — the 40 zone, the crossing, and traffic safety. The South-Eastern Victoria Region is now in contact with Mornington Peninsula Shire Council’s traffic management team to discuss solutions.
This is where we need to keep the pressure on:
Flashing lights to properly enforce the 40km/h zone.
A supervised crossing from 2:30pm daily.
Ideally, a roundabout to manage traffic safely.
💡 These changes would be a game-changer for our kids and families right now, while the bigger car park issue is worked on in the background.
