Driver Indicted In Deaths of 6 In Bus Crash

Published: April 09, 1993 A bus driver has been indicted in the deaths of six passengers last summer during a crash while on an outing to an amusement park, Sussex County prosecutors announced today. Robert Campbell, 61, of Brooklyn was indicted on six counts of aggravated manslaughter and death by auto. He also was indicted on 14 counts of aggravated assault and assault by auto stemming from the most serious injuries suffered by 47 other people hurt in the July 26 accident. The bus was chartered by families from a Brooklyn neighborhood and visiting relatives from Puerto Rico for a Sunday outing at Action Park in Vernon. The crash occurred on a steep road in Vernon Township as the bus Mr. Campbell was driving hit a car, flipped and smashed into another car, pinning it against a guardrail, and burst into flames. Driver's Wife Killed One of those killed in the crash was Mr. Campbell's wife, Allie Mae. The other victims were Noel Aquino, 25; Indira A. http://www.nytimes.com/1993/04/09
