Bus driver in fatal accident in Passaic charged with vehicular homicide

An NJ Transit bus driver who allegedly ran a red light and hit and killed a man last fall in a crosswalk in Passaic was indicted by a grand jury Friday on a charge of vehicular homicide.

Catherine Collier, 65, of Passaic., faces 10 years in state prison if convicted of the second-degree crime and would have to serve 85 percent of the sentence before becoming eligible for parole. She has been free on $50,000 bail since her arrest Oct. 4.
