LAS VEGAS (FOX5) - Police said a teen boy died after he was hit by a Regional Transportation Commission bus Sunday evening. The crash happened about 5:15 p.m. at the intersection of Vegas Drive and Martin Luther King Boulevard. According to Las Vegas Metro police, detectives believe the 14-year-old boy, identified by the Clark County Coroner's Office as Tay'Von Howard, of North Las Vegas, jumped into the street outside of a marked crosswalk when the crash happened. They said there was nothing the bus driver could have done to avoid the crash. Police said they believe the Tay'Von was walking on the sidewalk with relatives at the time of the crash. They said it appears something startled him, causing him to jump into the street. A large section of Vegas Drive was closed to traffic for about four hours.
