The Issue

The tranquil residential estate where we live faces an imminent disruption we simply cannot ignore. News of a new housing construction project nearby has reached our doorstep, accompanied by plans indicating our quiet, narrow roads will soon become bustling arteries for heavy construction traffic. This includes excavators and twin axle wagons, surging through our peaceful environment.

Accessibility lies as the core of this issue–our roads, barely wide enough to accommodate two household vehicles, will surely crumble under this envisaged strain. But beyond the physical infrastructure, the revelation strikes deeper, targeting the harmony and well-being of our community.

This proposed plan is not just an inconvenience, it is a major disruption to our daily lives. Some of the residents of our estate may require access to hospitals and other vital services. Such heavy traffic routing through our estate puts this fundamental need at risk.

However, the crux of this situation lies in the presence of suitable alternatives. Multiple alternate entrances exist that can accommodate the heavy construction traffic without imposing on our residential roads. Yet, these alternatives are being overlooked. This is our community, our homes, and our lives that will be directly impacted.

We request the relevant bodies to redirect the proposed plan of traffic flow to another entrance other than ours. We kindly ask for consideration of residents' wellbeing over quick fixes, to prevent our residential estate from becoming another casualty of careless planning.

We implore everyone reading – sign this petition now. Protect our right to a peaceful living environment, and remind the developers and governance bodies that our residential area is not just another route on a map.
