Haslingden/Deardengate £6000 Grant

Rossendale Borough Council has proposed a £6000 grant.

The support offered focuses on helping businesses improve their appearance and marketing/training after the works, whereas many businesses have experienced loss of trade and income during the disruption. We would like to see consideration given to compensation or more substantial financial support that reflects the actual economic impact on affected businesses. While improvements to the town centre are important, many businesses feel the focus has been on the appearance of Haslingden rather than the financial impact prolonged works have had on traders struggling to sustain their doors opening, bills, staffing & stock etc. Which should prioritise. We would welcome greater transparency around the support available and whether it reflects the losses businesses have experienced. This is not good enough and the loss of income from 2025 still affects us.
