Thank you for the support! We are almost at 350 signatures.

We've found a way to hopefully bring more attention to the nearby facility; keeping a record of incidents with the facility. There have been many comments on the petition sharing personal experiences from nearby residents who have felt the effects of the nearby facility, so if we are able to properly record these incidents we can compile them together and send them to the Ministry of Environment and Climate Change. We are asking to track the following items:

  • Quality of odour: if the odour is offensive, please describe.
  • Intensity: this is rated on a scale from 1 to 5, which is as follows: very weak, weak, distinct, strong, intolerable.
  • Frequency: how is often is the smell present? Once during the day or more? Please note the day(s) as well as the time(s).
  • Duration: how long does the smell last?
  • Weather conditions: was it windy, and if so do you know what direction the wind was blowing? How strong was the wind? Was it sunny, cloudy, or raining? What was the temperature?
  • Source: where do you think the odour is coming from, and why?
  • Effect: how is the odour affecting you?

The suggested time frame for recording all this is 2 weeks. If you were able to record some information over the next couple of weeks, please either post it in the comments of this petition or we will be posting another update soon with an email to send it to.

If you are able, please record some information as it can act as evidence of the effects of the nearby facility, even just putting a date, time, and location to an incident will be helpful!

Thank you!
