Update 2/19/25

thank you to everyone who has signed, shared, and donated!! We are almost halfway to the goal of 1k signatures!! 
today, someone from the office of the 34th ward got back to me. They said “CTA is working on securing and installing pigeon netting and will add Clinton to their list for attention on this”

however, this netting may not be the best solution. Now, instead of getting trapped in the escalator crack, the pigeons will most likely get trapped in the netting. Either the netting must have very fine mesh, or the gap must be blocked off completely or filled in. 

thank you to those who have expressed interest on other social media platforms! Today, I have learned that the netting is not a solution (see image attached of other commuter experience), and birds still get trapped and pass away. 

we are one step closer to getting 1k signatures! Once I reach 1k I will share this petition to city officials once more; together, we can show them the community cares about solving this problem and we can sway them to find a better solution. I APPRECIATE ALL OF YOU!
