Yet again, another year has passed and it's nearly Christmas again. I can't believe how my petition has grown! Thank you so much everyone for your support. Around this time of year, people will start to impulse buy hamsters for Christmas.

Whilst buying a hamster for Christmas can rarely, but sometimes be ok if you've researched and have created a calm environment, it's usually for children. Children usually enjoy owning a hamster for a couple of weeks or months, but after the novelty wears off, the hamster normally ends up getting neglected and eventually rehomed.

People who haven't researched will probably think that as a big chain pet store, Pets at Home will know their stuff, however, this isn't the case. Their unsuitable, small cages are often sold to impulse hamster buyers. They tell them that they are suitable, then without them even being aware of it, they neglect the hamster.
