After a long 13 months we have finally won. After appearing on NZ Herald earlier this year I had an incredible disability advocate by the name of Jane Carrigan reach out to me. She sent me an email and explained that the Crown Government in NZ is legally responsible for funding goods, services and facilities for those with disabilities. After working and communicating with her for a few weeks we discovered that there is actually already funding out there for Hearing Aid Batteries. So I applied for it through Taikura Trust and also cc'd Jane into the email. Because we had Jane and the media I received funding. We then had to figure out if this could be used on Hearing equipment and Hearing Aid Batteries. Turns out it can be. The system to get funding is difficult but we've figured out a way to help others get their funding by making an official step by step guide. Follow this guide and if you are PERSISTENT you will get funding.
Here is the GUIDE: Step by Step Guide
Thank you from the bottom of my heart. This has been an amazing and life changing journey. This would not have been possible at all with any of you. Without signatures and donations this would have never happened. Truly thank you so much to every single one of you.
I would like to give special thanks to the following people: Deborah Russell, Cheree Kinnear, Marama Davidson, Felix Walton, Theresa Stucki, my friends, my family and Jane Carrigan. Most importantly everyone who supported me.
Truly thank you every single one of you.
