We want to wish everyone a fun and safe 4th of July! In addition, we have a few small updates.
Our presentation and the community concerns shared during the Town Council meeting was captured by the Alamance News. The Elon News Network also published an article regarding the meeting. Please be sure to check out and share these stories!
As always, if you wish to help, keep sharing the situation with your neighbors and friends. The more individuals that are aware, the better. We've seen some people saying on social media that a petition won't matter. We disagree.
In the last Elon Town election, roughly only 2000 people voted. Our petition has over 200 signatures between the physical pages and change.org. That is a potential 10% of the total vote.
Next year is an election year for 3 of our town council seats. This will be on their minds as they make a decision.
We've also seen people stating this will be good for low income families. We disagree. The target price for the single family homes is $500,000 and anyone seeking a rental will have to compete with Elon college students.
Parc Northwest may be mixed use, but it isn't designed for everyone. There is a very clear demographic that is being targeted.
As you consider what 4th of July means to our country, also remember what it now means for our Town. Please get the word out and, as always, we're seeking volunteers.
