Hello everybody, I have a few updates to share regarding the petition, although there have been no updates from any decision makers yet.  I also have a few suggestions on what our next form of action should be in order to further our cause positively.

First, I want to thank all of you who took the time to add your signatures, shared, and especially those who spoke out with support in the comments and ran advertisements to further the cause.  Without you all, we would have no chance of winning this fight, so it means the world to me. 

Our numbers are spectacular, and we have reached 2,000 signatures in the first 24 hours of being live online.  As many of you know, Local charters and state laws determine the threshold for local issues, such as zoning changes and others.

I do request that you all continue to share this petition to your groups, your friends, your neighbors, anybody who may sign it to further our cause.  The larger our group is, the more likely our decision makers are to listen to us and call this monstrosity off, which should save our town from it, even if only temporarily.  We deserve the right to affordable energy, comfortable living, clean water, and quiet streets.  This data center had little to no warning with its arrival, and practically none of our citizens’ voices were heard regarding their issues with it.

I have already reached out to Buckeye Environmental Network (both their default email, as well as their media email), Erin Brockovich, and Water For All, although I encourage you all to contact them on your own as well.  It would greatly increase our perceived importance, urgency, and numbers.  The support and/or endorsements that are possible from gaining these contacts would be astronomically fundamental to our petition, and make our decision makes unable to turn a blind eye any longer.  Having these contacts join our side could be the difference between victory and loss.  Please, regardless of whether you decide to reach out to any of these contacts, continue to raise awareness on this topic.  So often, huge things will happen, and then the topic dies out and is forgotten.  We can’t afford to let this happen here.
