Friends, The Public Comment Period for Montenegro Drilling has ended. Thank you all who submitted! Please take a moment to send a comment to stop the Adriatic's most recent threat! The more people that send comments the bigger the impact. SEND TO: ITALY's cross-border consultation. You may send comments, preferably in English via Word format. RE: Montenegro's Public Consultations for the Draft Report of the Strategic Environmental Impact Assessment for the Program of Exploration and Production of Offshore Hydrocarbons. REMEMBER: All Comments should be respectful, include your FIRST and LAST name (if you are sending as an individual), OR the name of your organization AND the name of the person within the organization who wrote the comments. It is strongly suggested that a contact email address be included with your name. All suggestions, opinions and comments which are not filed on time and clearly written, will not be taken into account. The more unique and personal your comment the more powerful it will be, but here is some sample text that you can use to start: "I strongly urge the Government of Montenegro to end the hazardous offshore drilling project in the Adriatic Sea. Not only would one oil incident similar to the one in the Gulf of Mexico, permanently destroy the entire ecosystem, but the cumulative effect of the expected expansion of multiple wells creates a permanent pollution situation for the region and the health of its citizens for effectively 30 years! The negative effects down-current on fishing, tourism, and real estate are amplified due to the direction of major ocean currents that circulate toward Croatia, Slovenia and Italy within the mostly-enclosed Adriatic. Incredibly, some of the granted drilling areas coincide with undersea deposits of unexploded ordnance dating from the second world war and the recent conflict in former Yugoslavia**, which further makes this project unsound. This project must be stopped and renewable energy alternatives should be pursued for our future." ** by the "Map of unexploded ordnance dumping sites in the southern Adriatic Sea" http://notriv-terradibari.blogspot.it/2016/02/la-febbre-delloro-nero-colpisce-il.html Direct links to the English documents: - Strategic Study: http://www.mzoip.hr/doc/strateska_studija_-_engleska_verzija.pdf - Non-Technical Summary of the Study: http://www.mzoip.hr/doc/ne-tehnicki_sazetak_studije_-_engleska_verzija.pdf MORE helpful links in Croatian and Italian: - UPUTE za sastavljanje pismenog komentara o naftskom projektu za Jadran Crne Gore: on.fb.me/1UgxDKD - LINKOVI za preuzimanje DOKUMENATA Strateske studije i Nacrta Programa istrazivanja i proizvodnje ugljikovodika u podmorju Crne Gore: on.fb.me/1RgGLfu - ROKOVI i ADRESE za slanje nasih pismenih komentara!: on.fb.me/1XGAhJF - Ricordiamo che e possibile inviare le proprie osservazioni entro il 25 febbraio!: http://www.va.minambiente.it/it-IT/Comunicazione/DettaglioNotizia/664 - La febbre dell'oro nero colpisce il Montenegro: bit.ly/1Tug9cX - SOS za Jadran: Vlada Crne Gore gradane dovodi u zabludu: http://www.vijesti.me/vijesti/sos-za-jadran-vlada-crne-gore-gradane-dovodi-u-zabludu-874963
