Many of us have attended the second “McDonalds, public consultation” they have no intention of actually consulting with any of the people whose lives will be massively impacted by this. They could not answer any questions we had, and just said McDonalds would mitigate issues. What they actually meant was that they would kick it all down the road.
•Noise - they will build a fence and might plant? This will not help with any noise outside the site! They admitted that!
•Smell -they have something they say works, but know it doesn’t
•Antisocial behaviour- that’s for the police to deal with, they know it happens (they accept it’s linked to their premises, it’s on the posters) and will talk about it a bit but they don’t actually do anything, it would be just down to the locals to call The police and report!
•They say they will support the local council with revenue of up to £60k per year, but have nothing in place to recompense all home owners in the local area who WILL lose £60k + per property off the value of their homes, never be able to sell or move, and probably not be able to remortgage due to devalued homes!
•They have nothing in place to calm traffic or to stop anyone racing up and down the road at all hours (down to police again)
•Light pollution apparently they have anti glare lights! At least to start with! Until they apply for planning for more lighting - check the council planning! There are numerous individual plannings submitted for new bigger lights and signage.
There is no positive at all in this planning! It’s 100% negative to anyone living nearby. And mitigation of the issues that has no value to locals ‘vs’ the fact we have none of the above now!
It’s is quiet at all hours, we have a cars during the day (usually between 7am and 6pm), there is no noise, no smells, no lights, no excess of cars, no antisocial behaviour, no groups of people hanging about day and night, no litter in our gardens, no people parked in front of our homes eating fast food and littering. Our houses are worth what we paid for them. The stress this has caused since this all started, the damage to people’s mental health, is just the tip of this iceberg! No one is taking any responsibility for the damage this will cause us all, every single resident living in the area.
The first “public consultation” online, by their own admission was bias and any submission without any added comments (in the hard to find comments box), will put forms in the ‘in favour’ category! Anyone who did write an against comment will not be counted! They have lied in the literature and in their titles of consultation & considerate neighbour - no one has been consulted, least of all the local residents.
