#NoToxicPortAsk the Mayor about Enderby before 2 Nov!

Isle of Dogs with egra.londonLondon, ENG, Royaume-Uni
17 oct. 2017
As Morgan Stanley are selling Enderby Wharf, now is the ideal time to write to Sadiq Khan and his deputy, Shirley Rodrigues, BEFORE People’s Question Time on 2 November.
We need to ask:
1. Will you write to prospective buyers asking that they abandon the terminal UNLESS unless they provide an onshore power supply?
2. What controls over Thames vessel emissions have you asked the Government to put in place?
3. Will you levy a toxic charge for commercial vessels on the Thames as they do with commercial vehicles?
Here are their contact details:
Shirley Rodrigues, Deputy Mayor, Environment and Energy

Sadiq Khan, Mayor of London
mayor@london.gov.uk
City Hall, The Queen's Walk, London SE1 2AA.

MAKE YOUR VOICE HEARD BEFORE IT'S TOO LATE.
There is a political will to tackle pollution, but so far all the rhetoric is about traffic on the roads.
Cruise liners are far more toxic. The Greater London Authority's air quality experts confirm that a moored cruise ship generating its own power from a 3.5MW engine is like having 688 HGVs with their engines idling in your back garden. And as some cruise ship generate three times the emissions; we could easily be looking at the equivalent of 2000 HGVs.
And remember, ships on the Thames burn diesel with 100 times the amount of sulphur than in road diesel.
So please write now, or come to the meeting. We can't allow these toxic cruise ships to park up on our doorstep unchallenged. 40,000 people die early from pollution in the UK every year.
Does that number need to rise before politicians take note?
