Despite a volley of impassioned arguments against current plans for Enderby Wharf on Tuesday, councillors gave the terminal the green light. About 98% of members of the public who attended the meeting objected to plans as they now stand, urging councillors to consider ship-to-shore power. Yet, despite their protestations, it soon became clear that councillors had already made up their minds. Still, we can take heart from the knowledge that local people from Greenwich and Tower Hamlets have the same agenda. We both want clean air. And, hopefully, there will be strength in numbers.
