8 Aug. ‘26, US Government Acknowledges: At least 153 civilians were killed and nearly 250 were wounded during USA attacks on Yemen last year. This is revealed in a report by the Department of Defence that it is required to share annually with the US Congress. More than fifteen other attacks resulting in civilian casualties are still under investigation.

Out of solidarity with the Palestinians in Gaza and opposing the growing influence of the US and Netanyahu’s Israel in the region, Houthis fired at USA defence vessels and commercial ships in the Red Sea.

Why? And what's the position of NATO SG Rutte?

At the ISS Prague Defence Summit , NATO SG Rutte calls Yemen "Europe's backyard". Rutte’s words seem fully in line with Netanyahu’s ‘Axis of Secession’, which already has new targets planned to further destabilize the world and extend power and influence. Netanyahu’s recognition of Somaliland on Dec. 25 had little to do with aspirations of communities living in the breakaway region of Somaliland in Somalia. It signals something much broader: the growing use of secessionist movements as disruptive instruments of geopolitical strategy across the Middle East and the Horn of Africa, described by some experts as the 'Axis of Secession'. It is already visible in Libya, Yemen, Sudan, Somalia, Syria, Lebanon, Iran, the West Bank and Gaza. Led by Netanyahu and supported by a network of partners, including key-ally NATO SG Rutte, the axis targets countries whose central governments are hollowed out by conflict, exercising only partial control over their territory. The citizens of Ukraine also suffer under such a situation.

The logic is simple: weaken central authority, bolster breakaway regions, and cultivate dependent entities willing to align with Netanyahu, Trump and Rutte.

It also aims for total control over the Red Sea which carries around 10 percent of global trade. Somaliland’s long coastline has therefore become a strategic prize.

Netanyahu’s ‘Axis of Secession’ has accelerated a wider realignment in the Middle East. Saudi Arabia and the UAE, once close partners, are now increasingly at odds, while Turkey, Saudi Arabia, Qatar and Egypt have begun coordinating to counter what they view as a destabilising of the region.

By giving more power to secessionist regions, Trump and Netanyahu are trying to reform the 'world order', fully backed so it seems by, NATO SG Rutte.
