Rutte regards Trump's serious threats to take over Greenland by military force a mere 'debate'. He refuses to provide ány clarity about the verbal agreements he made with Trump and he quickly distances himself from rumours that the Ukraine issue was used in the Greenland negotiations. Moreover, it is completely unclear who he is referring to when he says 'we'.
Rutte suddenly calls the alleged threats from Russia and China surrounding Greenland, economic threats. He wants NATO countries to deny China and others, access to the NATO economy. "NATO is clearly in charge here.", he adds. As far as Rutte is concerned, Trump’s NATO will decide who Europe can and cannot trade with?!
Once again, Rutte emphasizes several times that he wants to defend Trump.
And Rutte fully rejects a proposal to issue a NATO-based apology for Trump's outrageous insults against NATO soldiers who served after America invoked Article 5 of NATO in 2001. He then specifically mentions the deployment of Danish troops in Afghanistan, it seems as a way to make up for Trump's military threats against Greenland. And according to Rutte, Trump has already made up for the whole issue with one single tweet about British soldiers, after he had insulted them too.
And then there are the 'indirect threats'; if you think you can defend yourself without the US, keep dreaming! Putin will love it! What Rutte implies is that Europe is not allowed to defend itself and obliged to buy American weapons, thus stimulating the US war-economy.
Suddenly, the Russian shadow fleet is no longer a military threat but a big source of income for the Russian federation that has to be blocked. And Rutte now says they pose a threat to the environment.
This time Rutte leaves out all his stories about the acute threat that Russia supposedly poses to all of Europe; the Russian drones that are supposedly flying everywhere and all the infrastructure that is supposedly being hacked by Russia, etc. etc.
Trump tries to retain full control over the European Economy, using the EU and NATO as ‘vehicles’ to get there. And Trump’s ‘associate’ Rutte is more than willing to help implementing Trump’s NATO Economy.
