I am pleased to say that I have some good and bad news regarding the progress of our petition getting off the ground.

Let me start with the good news, which is that I received a response from the office of David Hazlehurst, the CEO of Services Australia.

The bad news is that the response had no relevance whatsoever to the email I sent him on Monday, July 15th, 2024 with a request for him to get in touch with the CEO of Centrelink and discuss the petition with him.

In sight of this, I forwarded Mr. Hazlehurst's response to the Department of Social Services, along with the email I sent him on our behalf, with the petition document and the signature list attached.  In the email, I briefed the subject of my original email to Mr. Hazlehurst and how his response didn't serve any relevance to our petition.

Let's keep our fingers crossed that we receive a more relevant response from the Department of Social Services in due course.
