After a deeper dive into Bikeshare’s challenges, I’ve revised the petition to reflect a more nuanced position. The proposed price increases aren’t discriminatory in intent—but they risk destabilizing the system by overburdening vulnerable riders and shrinking ridership growth.

Yes, everyone should contribute something to maintain access. But pricing alone won’t fix hoarding, stranding, or rough usage. And unless fee increases remain minimal, we risk turning a mobility lifeline into a luxury.
