PROTEST - THURSDAY 19th MAY
Location: Linton On Ouse Village Hall
Meet Time: 4.30pm
Press invited 5pm onwards.
The protest is likely to draw to an end when the parish council meeting commences at 6pm.
It has been confirmed that the UK Home Office will be attending the annual parish meeting this Thursday (6pm - 7pm), prior to the monthly parish council meeting. In light of this, we feel this is a great time to protest against the UK Home Office and it's decision to go ahead with this site.
This could be the last time the Home Office visit prior to the site opening, with the UK Home Office ignoring all attempts of communication from Hambleton District Council and their legal team, as well as the North Yorkshire Police and other local authorities
Signs and Banners are being created and will be ready by Wednesday. Hand outs will be available at the village shop opposite the village hall. Media are being informed of the protest as well.
It's important to consider why we are protesting? We will all have different reasons. We all have our own thoughts and feeling on this and it's important to keep our protest constructive.

We want to show the wider community that we are not NIMBYs, we are not racist, but we will not be silenced either. There are many reasons why this is the wrong plan and the wrong place, and this protest is the chance to voice that.
