Thank you all so much for your support, your signatures, and the encouragement you’ve shown throughout this process. Although the City Council voted to approve the blight designation, we want you to know this is not the end of the road. In fact, the momentum has grown even more — we gained additional signatures even after the hearing, and people across Lincoln are now paying attention in ways they weren’t before.

This vote is disappointing, especially given the documented inaccuracies in the studies and the lack of genuine community inclusion. But please know this: we are not giving up. We are not discouraged, and we are not stopping. This movement has already accomplished something important — it brought neighbors together, uncovered facts that had previously gone unquestioned, and showed that residents will speak up when their neighborhoods are misrepresented.

We will continue working, organizing, and exploring every available avenue to push for transparency, fairness and accurate representation in city planning. Your support truly matters, and it means more than you know. Please stay tuned — there is more work ahead, and we’re only becoming stronger and more unified. Please continue to share this petition and information with anyone you may know.

Thank you for standing with your neighbors,

Abigail
