Earlier today, the City of Mesa and Falcon Field Airport held an informational meeting at the airport. A significant amount of material was presented regarding the City’s long-term vision for Falcon Field over the next 5–10 years.
They discussed the proposed runway landing fees and explained that this is only the beginning of a broader effort to make Falcon Field “self-sufficient.” The City stated that Falcon Field Airport does not receive a single dollar from the City of Mesa’s general fund, and therefore they want all users of the airport to contribute to this self-sufficiency plan—despite the fact that Falcon Field generates billions of dollars in economic impact every year for Mesa and the surrounding communities.
Please get engaged, stay informed, and attend the upcoming meetings. The future of general aviation at Falcon Field depends on a strong, unified presence.
