UK Government statistics show that since 2016 transport has become the biggest contributor to CO2 emissions in the UK. 

During the last 20 years Northamptonshire has become the No.1 location for Warehouse and Transport logistics.

It is not surprising then to find that Northamptonshire is now one the counties that has the highest rates of CO2 emission by transport.

North Northamptonshire Council (NN) has declared a climate emergency and stated that:

“Climate Change should be at the heart of the new NN Local Plan, with ambitious, realistic policies, consistent with social, economic and environmental objective”

Having declared a climate emergency, North Northamptonshire now has the legal responsibility to act.

Yet is it doing this or is carrying on as before and allowing property speculators to build enormous warehouse and industrial parks in the countryside, with no access to rail – 22,000 extra vehicle movements per day along a country road is not going to reduce carbon emissions.

It's not a response to the climate crisis – it's like putting your foot down in a diesel HGV while the countryside dies under concrete.
