Hello ARK Community,   I think that most of you already received the good news. After 6471 Signatures and more than 40.000 views from 103 different countries all over the world, we won.   In update "v25.18 server and client - 10/27/2023" Studio Wildcard removed SteamDRM (Digital Rights Management) for ARK: Ascended Server. That means no restrictions anymore in installing and hosting own servers. Monetization is also allowed - for tipping and running costs, which is not further defined so we are technically able to finance servers and our own work with it. We asked Marbis GmbH (Nitrado) for a statement in my before posted request. Here is the from German translated version: Hello Jona, thank you for your support request.   As long as our business model is not adapted, i.e. money is generated with the servers themselves, monetization via ingame stuff is allowed. We are aware that some explanations in the FAQ are unfortunately not understandable or incorrectly included, there will be a revision in the near future to make this more understandable. ... -------------- We are closing the petition now, which means that: Developers will resume with their work on ASA products. Server networks will start to operate ASA clusters. Players do not longer have to refund the game because of hosting restrictions. Some people donated money on our petition for change.org advertisement. We did not want this and already contacted change.org for refunds.
