Petition updateSTOP HELICOPTER NOISE - CURFEW AT SUNSHINE COAST AIRPORT

Still waiting for a curfew

Fiona Simpson has received a response from the head of the Sunshine Coast Airport and from Becker Helicopters citing a change in CASA's rules requiring urgent training as the reason for the increase in helicopter flights over the past few months. Now, everything is apparently back to normal and we can all breathe a sigh of relief. What these people fail to realise is that tax-paying Sunshine Coast residents do not want to be subject to the vagaries of private enterprise or governmental whim. We want the certainty that a curfew bound by law will provide. We do, however, appreciate that helicopter operations have been shifted to an area further away from people's houses - something I would have thought would have been an obvious measure to make in the first instance, especially with all the initial complaints.
