ABC runs story on the disgraceful HECS indexation process

Thanks again for your support for the call to freeze HECS/ HELP indexation this year. Many of us would love for the whole indexation process to be scapped, but first let's focus on June 1, 2023. If indexation reflects inflation this year, the  debts of many graduates will increase by $1000s overnight.

I am hoping to have the petition reach 5,000 so if you want to amplify this message, please consider sharing the petition with your circles. I am also hoping to meet with the Greens Deputy Leader, Mehreen Faruqi, who is calling for the indexation freeze. I would love to present her with the petition and all the comments that you have written. They powerfully tell the story of the impact of this short-sighted policy and the effect that it is having on every graduate with a debt- but especially part-timer workers and women.

A short, polite email outlining your request to freeze indexation would add much needed urgency to this issue.
