Springfield Township has abruptly postponed the first ‘Fact Finding Meeting’
The first ‘Fact Finding Meeting’ between the Springfield Township citizen representatives and township officials was scheduled for July 29th, 2025, with the goal of open, collaborative discussion about the proposed Levy Mine on Ormond Road. The meeting, which was Ric’s own proposal to promote transparency, was ‘postponed’ 24 hours before the meeting was expected to take place. This delay has added to ongoing public concern, particularly as a June 24th letter from the Great Lakes Environmental Law Center, submitted as a public comment, still has yet to be made publicly available as of July 29th. S.T.E.P. remains committed to ensuring citizens have access to accurate, timely, and comprehensive information. We believe that an informed community is an empowered community, and we will continue working to support transparent dialogue, shared critical documents, and help residents make well-informed decisions about issues impacting their health, environment, and quality of life.
