My name is Jason, and I’m part of the Civic Engagement Team at Change.org. Our mission is to connect petition supporters with decision makers and to help foster healthy, civil engagement in our communities.

As part of that work, we’ve been reaching out to members of the Ohio State Legislature to ensure they’re aware of the petition “Stop Funding Abortion Providers in Ohio.” This includes contacting State Representative Scott Oelslager’s office.

His office responded to our outreach with the following message:

We’ll continue to monitor and share updates as we hear back from additional public officials who may wish to comment or clarify their position on this issue.

But in the meantime, reaching out directly to your representatives on why you signed and support the issue has a big impact. They always prefer hearing directly from their constituents.
