That's what this petition is about! Thank you to Change.org and to the many supporters of this petition who helped us quickly raise the funding for the last minute plane ticket to Washington DC. We made it to DC for the first time! Thank you to those who allowed us to be the brave voice of patients impacted by the forcing to mail order pharmacies owned by three corporations or pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) that oversee 80% of the prescription medications filled through insurance in the US. The three largest PBMs that force to their own mail order are Optum RX, CVS Caremark, & Express Scripts.

Please contact your member of congress and ask them to co-sponsor HR 9096. As of the time of the press conference the bill  had about an equal amount of democrat and republican co-sponsors as it should. This is an issue that impacts every American and their community's access to their local pharmacy regardless of their political party as much of the forcing to mail order is for the distortion of drug prices that make PBMs billions of dollars. As mentioned, when we were forced to CVS mail order by CVS Caremark, I uncovered that CVS Caremark reimbursed their own mail order pharmacy many times over our local pharmacy and all under the disguise of a lower copay.

This legislation would help to stop the forcing to mail order pharmacy for many and do so much more to help patients. Through this grassroots movement and the help of each individual patient and community member, we will win.
