Who is Mark Cuban?
Cuban is a celebrity and entrepreneur. He has started Cost Plus Drugs, a company that removes pharmacy benefit managers (PBMs) to lower prescription drug costs. It's been successful. The largest three PBMs are Express Scripts, Optum RX, and CVS Caremark. Often, PBMs force or steer to their own mail order or retail pharmacies.
Many small, locally owned pharmacies have also offered low cash prices in the same way as Cuban for quite some time.
I encourage anyone who is learning or concerned about the issues with drug pricing or medication access to watch his comments provided to the White House yesterday.
