I briefly met Dr. Will Flanary, known as Dr. Glaucomflecken, at the National Community Pharmacy Association (NCPA) convention. I shared my son's story and how my advocacy started after Wesley's life was risked by forced mail order not storing medications safely. I'm thankful he mentioned temperatures and many other patient issues in this video.
It's the heroes like Dr. Glaucomflecken that have a platform and use it in such a way to inform and educate the public on real-life issues that will help save lives.
If you have a platform or know someone who does, please encourage them to use it. The stories that I hear daily are horrifying. Some days end in tears of sadness and frustration with the inability to save people from harm. I refuse to give up, and I see the momentum building as people unite on these issues. We cannot leave this poor level of pharmaceutical care behind for future generations. Each day this abuse continues, lives are at risk.
