Petition updatmportant Update – Update-Planning Deadline Extended!

Dear Supporters,

Thank you for your incredible support in standing against the proposed housing development at Fleetwood Farm. Your efforts are making a real impact!

Following a local meeting tonight, we’ve been informed that the planning deadline has been extended to 8th February. This extension gives us more time to make our voices heard and fight for what our community truly needs – a village square for Banks.

There are already valid concerns being raised, including:

Increased traffic and parking issues

Drainage concerns and potential flooding risks

Loss of local heritage and a significant environmental impact

The missed opportunity to create a proper village centre for shops, businesses, and community spaces

This is truly the last chance to preserve this space and ensure it’s used in a way that benefits the whole village, not just short-term housing needs.

How You Can Help:

1. Sign the Petition – Share it with family, friends, and neighbours. Every signature matters. Once you’ve signed, skip past the next two pages and confirm your signature by clicking the link in the confirmation email. We’re so close to 1,000 signatures!

2. Submit an Objection – Go to the planning website and submit your concerns directly. Use the 4,000-character limit to explain why you are against the housing development and why Banks desperately needs a village square instead.

Additionally, you can contact our local MP Patrick Hurley, who is also opposed to the development. Let him know this issue is important to you and that his support is vital for the community:

Patrick Hurley MP: patrick.hurley.mp@parliament.uk

Together, we can show the strength of our community and make a real difference for the future of Banks. Thank you for your continued support – let’s keep pushing to protect Fleetwood Farm!
