Hello everyone!

We wanted to let you know that we now have nearly 2,500 signatures on this petition. Thank you so much for your support! We are so thankful for the overwhelming support this cause has received.

Over the past few months, we have been meeting with local politicians and leaders to learn more about Faith Ministries, Faith’s biblical counseling (specifically relating to conversion therapy), and potential legislative routes to stop Faith’s abusive practices. Through the meetings, we discovered that currently there are no legislative plans to stop Faith.

We also met with Steve Viars, a Senior Pastor with Faith. He admitted that Faith Ministries offers biblical counseling that falls under the American Psychological Association’s definition of conversion therapy. However, he disagrees with the APA’s widely-accepted definition of conversion therapy, citing it as too vague and not severe enough. He would not consider ending this practice for minors and told us that Faith would continue to counsel children as young as 12 years old.

We will continue to raise awareness of Faith’s abusive conversion therapy practices. We plan to share victims’ experiences on Instagram (@fckfaithministires). If you or someone you know has experienced conversion therapy or homophobia at Faith Ministries, please fill out this form: tinyurl.com/faithtestimonies.
