As told by the authors: Mohammed Al Kindi and Simon Cahil wrote a guidebook, with other contributors, on the caves of Oman. Mohammed had generated corporate sponsorship to pay Max Scott (Gilgamesh) to produce the book and print and deliver 2500 copies in English and 2500 copies in Arabic. After many delays Max delivered only 50 copies of the English version and none of the Arabic and kept blaming the printers in the UAE for not delivering.
Mohammed and Simon eventually found out that the amount they paid was used to pay off an outstanding debt that Max had with a printing company. Mohammed and Simon demanded Max to return the money and take the book off different book selling websites he had placed it on. He confessed that the money had gone to pay other debts but refused to return the money, promising that he will eventually print the books.
Mohammed and Simon eventually printed the book in Oman but are unable to sell it abroad as it already exists, through Max, on various websites, and having multiple versions of the book with different ISBNs creates various problems. This has caused confusion and damaged the book’s credibility, especially since Max is known from past experience to not fulfilling online orders sometimes. This situation reflects poorly on the publication and frustrates genuinely interested buyers.
