The Iranian authorities reported that Saleh Mir Hashemi and four others were involved in the death of three security officials during protests on 16 November 2022 in Isfahan. Several news sources report that Saleh was under severe pressure to make a forced confession. He was held in solitary confinement for 45 days, tortured physically and mentally, and had his ribs and teeth broken. In addition, his sister was taken hostage and his wife and father were threatened. In court, he denied all accusations and told he did not have any weapon and did not shoot any officer on the day of the incident.
It is time to act and not allow innocent people to be sentenced to death. Together with Amnesty and other human rights organizations spread the story of Saleh and other innocent people and rise the voice of prisoners in Iran.
