Last night the Loudoun County Board of Supervisors Transportation and Land Use Committee (TLUC) approved the next steps with the flight path redesign for Runway 30 at Dulles Airport. The county had already hired Vianair to do the technical airspace redesign work (at the Loudoun Aircraft Noise Mitigation Committee's recommendation). But the county is responsible for organizing the community working group, which Vianair calls the design team. That design team will give feedback to Vianair about the proposed solution to present to the FAA. So last night, the county approved the proposed study area and design team structure, which is composed of nine representatives from across the map shown here. Those representatives have not yet been chosen. The county staff says the design team will likely be formed after the county elections in November and have their first public meeting in January. But that's a best guess at this time.
