Update on Sompura Lake Rejuvenation Progress

Dear All, greetings ! Here's an update on the Sompura Lake:

Recently paid a visit to the SayTree Foundation and met with Mr. Bhupendra, Project Manager for the Water Team. The SayTree Foundation has successfully rejuvenated Yamare Lake, funded by Amazon, located opposite the Yamare Panchayat behind Manipal Clinic on Sarjapur Road.

The SayTree Foundation has expressed readiness to undertake the Sompura Lake rejuvenation project and we have also received a go-ahead from the Yamare Panchayat. Before work can begin, several key challenges need to be addressed:
1. Sewage discharge from nearby apartment complexes continues to flow into the lake.
2. There are encroachments within the lake area that must be resolved.
3. The team will conduct a site survey shortly. 

They will reachout to the corporates for funding, which they can easily manage. Once received they'll sign an MoU with the panchayat. The Desilting activities can begin only after the following conditions are met:
a) The lake area is free from encroachments.
b) Any required tree removal approvals are obtained from the relevant authorities.
c) The sewage inflow is diverted or stopped.
d) The dry season begins (March–May), providing suitable conditions for desilting work.
